Lawler-Wood has been selected to plan, program, design, construct and equip a new 286-bed replacement hospital for Middle Tennessee Medical Center. MTMC is a member of Ascension Health, the largest not-for-profit health-care organization in the United States. Lawler-Wood won the chance to manage this project  by competing head-to-head with several large national development firms. According to the selection team, which was made up of MTMC and Ascension representatives, Lawler-Wood was chosen because of the firm’s successful track record, broad-based development experience, relevant health-care experience, and history of good team chemistry. Design has been completed and construction began in early 2008; the hospital is scheduled to open in the fall of 2010.
