The City of Maryville and the City of Alcoa formally agreed to collaborate with Maryville College to construct a new fine and performing arts complex to be located on the Maryville College campus. The complex consists of two buildings that together house a 1200-seat performance hall, a 250-seat recital hall, a 200-seat flexible theater, three galleries/exhibit spaces, and a grand lobby that can also be used for special events. Lawler-Wood’s duties as project manager included selecting and negotiating the contract for the design team, coordinating programming and conceptual design, developing comprehensive project budgets and schedules, coordinating the development of a governance agreement, consulting with the owner on funding strategies, and coordinating the application for and securing federal funding for the project. The project was successfully completed on time and within budget.
