In 1975, Rodney Lawler and Pat Wood combined their individual areas of expertise to open a comprehensive real estate and development company. They focused on filling an important niche in the community rather than on building a corporate empire—in fact, their company became known through the years for its responsiveness and lack of red tape. Today, Lawler-Wood has more than 300 employees and more than $2 billion in projects.
